HP Pavilion Aero 13

The Pavilion Aero's trick is weight: under 1 kg, achieved with a magnesium-alloy chassis rather than by shrinking the battery. The 13.3-inch 2.5K display is a genuine step above what this price usually buys, and the keyboard is comfortable for extended typing. Compromises show in the webcam and the speakers, both merely adequate, and there is no Thunderbolt. If your priority is carrying as little as possible for commuting or study, very little else at this weight costs this much less.
