Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12

The X1 Carbon is the machine IT departments keep buying, for practical rather than glamorous reasons. The carbon-fibre chassis keeps it near 1.09 kg while passing military-spec drop and temperature testing, the keyboard remains the best in any thin laptop, and the 14-inch 16:10 display returns the vertical space widescreen panels took away. Serviceability is the quiet advantage: battery and SSD are replaceable without specialist tools. Ports are generous for the class — two Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A, HDMI. Pick it for fleet use, heavy typing, and plugging into unfamiliar meeting rooms without hunting for adapters.
