ASUS Vivobook 16

The Vivobook 16 buys screen area more cheaply than anything else in the range. A 16-inch panel and a full number pad make it a comfortable machine for spreadsheets and coursework, and there is a proper spread of ports including HDMI and USB-A. It is plastic, it flexes, and the display is a modest 1920x1200 — this is a machine of sensible compromises rather than hidden excellence. Memory is upgradable via a SODIMM slot. Buy it as an affordable desk machine for study or admin work, not as a travelling companion.
